Tasniya S. is a dedicated advocate for mindful parenting, a passionate educator, and the founder of Fountain of Barakah LLC. Her work is anchored in faith, service, and a deep commitment to empowering families through education, empathy, and growth.
Tasniya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in Elementary Montessori Education. In 2016, she began working in elementary Montessori classrooms, guiding upper elementary children and deepening her expertise in child-centered education. She also started her journey in teaching through Sunday schools and founding youth programs for Muslim children and families, discovering her true calling in nurturing young minds. In 2020, she expanded her Montessori expertise with a certification in Primary Montessori and became a lead teacher at a local Montessori school.
In 2023, Tasniya embraced homeschooling for her son, inspiring her to open a part-time homeschooling pod in Maryland, supporting other families with personalized, holistic learning experiences. As a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and Coach, her organization, Fountain of Barakah, has offered numerous positive parenting workshops for the community, led a 9-month monthly respectful parenting group coaching program (2023–2024), partnered with parenting and homeschooling organizations to deliver workshops, and currently facilitates a parenting book club where she leads discussions and activities to support family growth and connection. She is also pursuing training to become a Trauma-Informed Parent Coach, further expanding her expertise in supporting families.
Through Fountain of Barakah, Tasniya envisions a “fountain of blessings” flowing into communities, building a global village of like-minded parents who nurture children with compassion, dignity, and resilience. Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of faith, education, and mindful connection in creating flourishing families.

Tamim Sookoor is a researcher, manager, and computer scientist focused on building resilient systems and fault-tolerant critical infrastructure. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Vanderbilt Universityand his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Virginia. Alongside his professional work, he is deeply committed to strengthening families and helping revive the ummah by nurturing strong, intentional homes equipped to navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
As a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator with a passion for psychology, leadership, and lifelong learning, Tamim contributes to the Fountain of Barakah blog and founded both the Iqra Book Club and Fathers of Ihsan Support Group. Through these initiatives, he seeks to cultivate thoughtful leadership, meaningful learning, and supportive community among men striving to lead their families with excellence and ihsan rooted in the Sunnah. In his free time, he enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling.
